Found MacBook, Apple Watch, and GoPro Underwater in River!

It’s not every day you stumble upon high-end tech while diving, but that’s exactly what happened during my latest underwater treasure hunt. Equipped with my diving gear and metal detector, I decided to explore a popular river known for its crystal-clear waters and heavy foot traffic. What I found at the bottom left me absolutely stunned—a MacBook, an Apple Watch, and a GoPro, all lying in the silt like forgotten relics.

The day started like any other dive. I was scanning the riverbed near a swimming and kayaking hotspot, an area where people often lose items. Within minutes, my metal detector pinged loudly. Digging through the sand, I uncovered the first treasure of the day: a GoPro! Its waterproof casing was scratched but intact, which gave me hope that the memory card might still hold some usable footage.

Encouraged by the find, I continued searching, and not long after, I spotted the unmistakable edge of a laptop. Carefully pulling it free, I was shocked to see it was a MacBook! The sleek design was caked in mud, and while I knew it wouldn’t turn on after being submerged for who-knows-how-long, the find itself was incredible. I couldn’t help but wonder how it ended up at the bottom of the river.

The final discovery came a little deeper into the dive. My detector beeped again near a rocky area, and as I cleared away the debris, I found an Apple Watch still strapped to its band. It was scratched and weathered, but I could tell it had been a prized possession.

Back on land, I examined my finds more closely. The GoPro looked like it might still be functional, especially since it was designed for underwater use. The MacBook and Apple Watch, on the other hand, seemed beyond repair, but that didn’t dampen my excitement. Each item told a story, and I was determined to find out more.

After cleaning up the GoPro, I removed the memory card and was thrilled to find it intact. It held videos of a family vacation, filled with laughter and adventure. As for the MacBook and Apple Watch, I noticed faint engravings and stickers that might help identify the original owners.

I plan to use social media and local lost-and-found groups to try to reunite these items with their owners. Recovering these lost treasures is rewarding not just for the thrill of discovery, but also for the chance to return something meaningful to someone who thought it was gone forever.

This dive was a reminder of why I love underwater treasure hunting—it’s not just about what you find but the stories behind the objects and the connections you make along the way.
